Last Friday, San Nakji tagged everyone who reads his blog to show a picture of their work. I can't completely cover that. But I have two photos below that cover a couple important aspects of my bakery work for a local three store grocery chain.
The above photo shows the shoofly pie goo in our larger cooker that I made today. Shoofly pie contains a bottom layer of goo made from molasses, eggs, water, and flour, a sweet cake-like middle layer, and a layer of butter crumbs on top.
This photo shows the van I used to make bakery deliveries to restaurants, other businesses, and our two other stores. I'm usually working with deliveries about twenty hours a week.

Wow, I didn't know you were in the bakery business. That's cool! Except the waking up really early part...
Nice pics, Tim. I also learned something new about you.
Hehe...I remember. What types of baked goods do you speacialize in? I love cakes. lol
I think our buddy San Nakji reads every blog in the blogosphere!!!
I just surfed on.... I am glad to see someone else playing the photograph your workspace game!!!
Shoofly Pie...sounds yummy! I think I would be 300 lbs if I worked in a bakery.
He he, only the good ones!
Hi san nakji. Yes, I work in the bakery business. But except for one day a week when I need to be in by three, I don't usually have to be at work before six or seven in the morning.
Thanks, fred. I appreciate your frequent visits and glad you find things of interest.
Hi rubysoho. We specialize in pies and cakes make from "scratch" or in other words just like homemade (not from a mix). Some of the pies we make include cherry, peach, pecan, lemon sponge, cheese, lemon merengue, apricot, blueberry, pumpking, strawberry, raisin, and more. Some of my other favorite baked goods include shoofly pie, funny cake, raspberry sour cream cake, and variety of breakfast cakes. We also make a really good pumpking whoopies.
Thanks, ashley, for stopping by. I'm glad I could join the photo work space game. Welcome!
Hi crystal. Yep, shoofly pie is very yummy especially the old fashion kind with an extra thick layer of goo. We also make an oatmeal shoofly pie that is excellent. As for weight, I weigh myself every morning and if I gain more than a couple pounds, I discipline myself to cut back. But most of the time, it isn't a problem. In earlier years, I used to use the guideline that if my pants started feeling tight, then it was time to stop eating those sweets. But some people have told me that I have more will power than many do.
Wow, those pies sound fabulous. Nothing like made from scratch baked goods. I'm sure you do a great business.
Speaking of will power - when my pants start feeling tight, I just go out and buy bigger ones. :-)
Thanks, Christina. Our scratch bakery is a big drawing point for the grocery store I work at. As for buying new clothes, I'm generally stingy with my money in that area.
