Maine Scenes, No. 4, Baxter

Below are three pictures along Grand Lake Matagamon in the Northern part of Baxter State Park, Maine. Along the shore line at this spot was a peat moss beach - soft and spongy to the bare foot. Looking at these pictures from years ago almost make me homesake for Baxter State Park, a wilderness area. One time, I saw a couple otters swimming near the shore line here.

Lovely photos. Baxter State Park seems like a great place to live close to; I can see why you are homesick. Nature always makes me feel closer to God. Are you planning to go back there any time soon?

A lazy walk in the evenings around this lake would make for a perfect evening for me!

Thanks, rubysoho. I'd like to back sometime soon. But it depends on a number of factors including that it is about a twelve/thirteen hour drive for me to get there.

Hi chez. You wouldn't want to walk around the entire lake in one day. It is much larger than the picture can convey. However, it is a beautiful lake to walk along.

So no otter photos? I would love to see some of them!

Thanks to Stephen King, I would love to go to Maine... It sounds amazing.

Hi san nakji. Unfortunately, the otters were only briefly visible each time they showed themselves and I did not manage to get a picture back then.

I recently posted a pic of Baxter too, on the top of Katadhin.
