Ringing Rocks County Park - Rocks and Moss, ...

Below are some more photos from my previous Saturday afternoon at Ringing Rocks County Park near Upper Black Eddy in Bridgeton Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I have many good memories of coming here with my parents and siblings when I was a kid.

Here's a portion of a field of ringing rocks located within the park. We use to come here as a family with a collection of hammers to make the rocks ring melodiously.

A large piece of driftwood near Falls Creek

Throughout the woods, there are many scattered rocks like these.

And even a number of boulders like this one.

Moss covered rocks proliferate here.

All what I love in nature: wet rocks, moss, roots, braun leaves; ah ! never in a garden you'll have such a great spectacle !
( but wild life is missing today, isn't it ?)

Thanks for the tour of the park. I wonder what the rocks are made of that makes them ring? The only sound I've ever heard of from a rock is a dull thud! I would love to hear these rocks :)

I'm a big fan of moss so those shots are great.

I've seen this place before, Tim. Somewhere in my life I have been there! The feel is so familiar....so soulful and therapeutic.

Hi, corinne. Fascinating observation. I'll have to look at it again.

Thanks, cergie. It was beautiful. Other than a few birds, I really didn't see any wild life as in animals that day. I had to make that clarification regarding wild life because I include many plants in that category. ;)

Hi, faye pekas. Glad you enjoyed this photo tour of the park. I did a little googling to investigate what makes those rocks ring and didn't get a satisfying answer. Basically it seems that science doesn't know.

Thanks, dia. It is a place of pleasant memories for me as well as natural beauty.

Hi, ginnie. You may have seen much of this before. Most of the photos I took are not necessarily geographically distinct. These photos are more representative of a type of habitat that may exist many places. Nevertheless still heart touching.

Hi, asma. Places such as these are peaceful and inspiring - good for one's soul. Thanks for stopping by.

These are great. The first two are my absolute favorites, although I love the moss sculpture, as well:)

Hi, Tim. You guys played rocks as if they were musical instruments? Julie Andrews wasn't your nanny, was she? It sounds very 'Sound of Music' like. :-)

Hi, choochoo. Nature is fabulous, isn't it?

Hola, joan gonzáles. Gracias por tu visita y tu comentarios. La naturaleza otoñal es muy impresionante, ¿verdad?

Hi, murf. Some in our family are very much into music. My dad for many years was the chorister for my church; one of my brothers sometimes leads music in church. I remember my mom playing hymns on the piano quite a bit when I was a kid. My dad played the organ for a number of years till it broke. My brother who has the three girls plays piano quite well and usually ends his day each evening by playing hymns. Two other brothers of mine play trumpet and trumbone. All my nieces love playing the piano though the youngest does only very simple songs at this time. I have a nephew who plays the drums and another nephew who plays the piano.

Thanks, camila bernades. It makes me happy to know that you enjoy my nature pics. Hope it is going well with you.

Thanks, judypatooote. I try to pick photos that speak.

Thanks, irene. May you have a great week, too.

Thanks, kiwinomad 2006. It's good to know that my pictures speak to you. :)

Hi, sarad. That's something I never quite noticed. Interesting observation.

Thanks, moi. Moss has a way of pulling me to it. :)

Long time, no see, minka. I thought you were becoming a long lost stranger. ;) Somehow my eyes have a hard time seeing the elephant there; but I'm willing to accept that perhaps my imagination is just too weary right now to see it.
