At the edge of town

I had to try out my new lightweight tripod that I got yesterday. I didn't have much time. So I only went to the edge of town to some undeveloped land. These are some of the results.

Junior Youth Lock-In at my Home Church

This past Friday from 8:00 p.m. to Saturday 8:00 a.m. we held the annual Junior Youth Lock-In at my home church. It was loads of fun; we got about four hours sleep that night. Below are pictures of some of the night's activities.

Tag Football

In this activity, the youth were paired up. Each was given a stocking with a foam ball in the bottom end. They then put the stockings over their heads and twirled it around until the stockings got entangled. The goal was to be the first person to pull the stocking off the other person's head.

The picture above and below are from the Lifesaver game. Lifesavers are scattered up front on the platform in the auditorium. The youth compete to get as many Lifesavers as possible without being spotted by the youth sponsors. The youth have to start at the back of the auditorium, sneak through or around about fifteen benches, take one Lifesaver at a time, and get all the way to the back of the auditorium again. If they are spotted and the sponsor calls out the correct name, the youth has to put the Lifesaver back on the platform and begin again at the back of the auditorium. The youth often get quite creative in this game putting on different clothing at times that they brought especially for this game to disguise themselves.

Solitude

Life is eternal,
and love is immortal,
and death is only a horizon,
a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.

Nockamixon State Park - Late Autumn

Late this afternoon, I went for a hike at Nockamixon State Park on the Quakertown side in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful sunny day for a change.

Thanksgiving 2006

Yesterday, most of family got together for our Thanksgiving celebration up near Coopersburg, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was a rainy day so most of us spent most of the time inside during the afternoon and evening.

We're beginning to chow down on our Thanksgiving meal of turkey, mash potatoes, oyster filling, corn, specially prepared stringbeans, a broccoli salad, and more. For dessert, we had pumpkin pie, some cookie like bars with chocolate chips in them, another pumpkin dessert and more. Yummy!

A Thanksgiving Tribute

Brothers and sisters together
Loving, laughing, crying, sharing
Evening out life’s rough spots
Sounding a call of friendship
Showing tenderness to the sadden
Evoking gladness of heart
Devoted to outward reaching service

These are pictures from my church. The tribute is for the congregation but it also extends out to all my friends. Happy Thanksgiving.

Ringing Rocks Falls on Falls Creek

Sunday afternoon, I was at Ringing Rocks County Park near Upper Black Eddy, Bucks County, Pennsylvania once again. Below are two more normal pictures of the falls on Falls Creek at Ringing Rocks. You might remember I posted some pictures near the beginning of November of these same falls just after a heavy rain. You might want to compare the difference.

Saturday's Hike

This past Saturday I went hiking on some Pennsylvania State Game Lands near Ring Rocks County Park of Upper Black Eddy, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was a cloudy day like almost every day now. The season of the gray and the brown is upon us.

Sky Lines

One evening last week, I was hiking in Lenape Park in Perkasie, Bucks County, Pennsylvania when I took noticed of three parallel lines in the sky. This photo is a result of that inspiration.

I have also recently started another photoblog that shows some creations of mine in a larger format on Shutterchance.com. My photoblog there is named Call of the Wild. This photo is one I have posted there. You are invited to check it out.

Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy, No. 4

This afternoon, I went hiking at the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy near Schwenksville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was a warm but cloudy afternoon. Below are a few pictures from my walk.

I love the patterns on this weather and creek water beatened tree trunk. I almost labeled the above picture - "Here's Looking at You".

This is a portion of the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek. Can't you almost imagine that darkened stump on the right being a bear standing up along the path?
