Maine Scenes, No. 10, Quoddy Head

These two pictures were taken at Quoddy Head State Park which is the Northeastern most point of both Maine and the United States.

In the photo above, the bluffs in the background are a part of Grand Manan Island which is a part of Canada. And in the photo below is one of the pretty lighthouses of Maine.

OMG. That is a spectacular lighthouse, Tim. Donica and I try to see every lighthouse we're near. Another "theme" we could collect forever.

These shots are great, looks like a wonderful, peaceful place. Maybe one day I come and visit Canada and take shots of these myself.

The lighthouse picture is great. When I lived on Long Island, we sometimes would go to the east end and look at the scenery. I wish I took pictures.

Lighthouses are cool. I am always saddened by the widespread (if not total?) automation of them. There is something so mysterious and romantic about a lighthouse keeper.

Hi, blue sky. I love lighthouses, too. They have a certain aura of hope, mystery, and history.

Thanks, ginnie. I can easily see how could make a hobby of collecting lighthouses.

Hi, merili. Glad you enjoyed the pics. Do come visit sometime.

Thanks, ava. I agree - lighthouses are awesome.

Hi, fred. I think a lot of us wish we would have taken more pictures from some past period in our life. But I'm glad you enjoyed these pics.

Hi, tai. I'm wondering. In the last two posts (Smokey Mountains and Maine lighthouse ones), I failed to mentioned that those were taken years back. I have gotten around some; but it wasn't all recent. :)

Hi, samrina. It certainly is a place where one could dream dreams and stories.

Hi, wendy c. Glad you like the pics. So you are originally from Maine or did your parents move there later?

Hi, san nakji. There is a sense of loss often when automation takes over. Yet our lives would be so much different without automation.

Hi, cher. It is a pretty place. There are so many places in Maine worth visiting. Quoddy Head State Park isn't a big park and probably not a place you'll spend many hours at. But if you are explore other parts of Maine, it is well worth a stop.

You always have such beautiful and interesting pictures to share with us...I really enjoy seeing a place I have never been to, and you have made it so appealing that I plan to visit there one day.

I read your post above and yes sometimes we get busy and just have to take care of other priorities first. We all understand and will check back from time to time.

Thanks, abandoned in pasadena. I try to present a variety of potential pictures of interests. It is always gratifying to know that other people appreciate them. :)

Thanks, ocean. Lighthouses even if no longer used have sentimental and symbolic value. They're neat.
