A View From a Texas Country Road near Dallas

This picture was taken in May 1997 from a country roadside near Dallas, Texas. During that road trip, I was constantly amazed by all the colorful spring flowers one could see along the way.

Hi, cergie. You are right in saying that spring is a gorgeous season.

Hi, minka. I think these are called Texas bluebonnets, a lupine.

Hi, darilyn. They certainly are beautiful.

You know what Shug says (from The Color Purple): "I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it."

Thanks for noticing!

Thanks, ginnie. How can one not notice such beauty as this?

The field of flowers is simply beautiful.

Have you noticed in your travels that states are starting to plant wild flowers in the mediums, between the lanes on the highways...they're breathtaking.
Next time I see some I am going to have to stop and take some pictures.

Hi, abandoned in pasadena. Yes, I have noticed at times that states plant wildflowers in the median or even on the road sides. If you stop and take pictures, just be safe on the highway as I'm sure you will. :)
