Sandy Hook National Recreation Area, No. 1, Some Early Morning Pictures

This past week, I spent some time at Sandy Hook National Recreational Area on the New Jersey coast located just across the bay below New York City. The Sandy Hook area is actually a fairly large peninsula that a number of decades ago use to primarily serve as a military base. But it has long been changed mostly into a recreation area with just a small area now used for military purposes. The first three pictures are taken from some of the many beaches on the peninsula. The fourth picture draws me because of how the early morning sun is reflected by the boat. And the last picture is a view of a smaller peninsula jutting out from the larger Sandy Hook peninsula. For fullest appreciation of these pictures do click on them to see a larger view.

Dear Tim, when you were looking at the rising sun, you were looking at me in fact: i was in the other side of Atlantic Ocean !

I was watching the waves actually a few time before, just in front of America !

Thanks, sage. It is nice to know when a particular picture especially attracts any of my readers.

Thanks, samrina. Mornings are a special time both for meditation and photography.

Hi, cergie. You make me smile. :)

Hi, backpack_everyday. Thanks, but I wouldn't say better just a different view to enjoy. Glad you enjoyed the mushroom photos, too.

Hi, ed abbey. Glad I could provide you that treat, then, this time.

Hi, shu-ichi. Glad you enjoy these scenes. There are many places in America worth seeing just as I'm sure there are many places in Japan that I should see if I could afford such travel.

Thanks, kevin stilley. Glad you appreciate these pictures. Hope I didn't make you too wishful. ;)

Thanks, crystal. There is something special about sunrises - a great time contemplate and appreciate nature.

Hi, Fred. Go right ahead. I don't mind at all since it is for personal use. But I do appreciate you letting me know.

Beautiful - the last one looks like the earth disappears just on the other side of the peninsula. We are out of town and trying to get caught up on my reading. ec

I have read that there are just a handful of minutes each day when you can get the magic colors like this--sunrise and sunset--times that are usually too early or at dinnertime for most of us. If you have the patience and take the effort, as you have done, BINGO. Well done!

Thanks, ginnie. The early morning is a special time if one doesn't have other obligations get in the way.
