Junior Youth Retreat, Part 4, Fishing and ...

Saturday morning between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., some of the youth went fishing down at the lake below the house - this after having only four hours sleep during the night. Curfew Friday night had been 2:00 a.m. The three girls didn't fish but wanted to enjoy the early morning hours. Notice that a couple of the youth were fishing off the diving board rather than the pier.

It is hard to get into trouble while fishing - they look like they were really having a good time. ec

This reminds me of the song from years ago, "God loves to talk to boys while they're fishing." These are memories they'll never forget. So glad they have you in their lives to share it all with.

just came off the lake within a canoe. We started fishing as the sun went down and stayed out until the light drained from the sky. As I was helping my daughter with her new rod, I only caught a couple, but they'll be more nights!

My dad used to go fishing all the time, but I've never understood the joy of fishing (or hunting for that matter). Looks like the kids made a good catch, I'm sure it was a fun time!

Hi, fred. Can you become either a sixth, seventh, or eighth grader again? ;)

Hi, mreddie. I think they did enjoy it. There's also something special about being up in nature in the early morning hours.

Thanks, nabeel. From what I understand, mornings are generally the best time to catch fish. But I don't do any fishing myself. So I am not a fishing expert.

Thanks, ginnie. I think I faintly remember that song, too. And the youth are well worth the time I spend with them and more.

Hi, spicebear. I think everybody that was at the youth retreat found it to be great fun. And I haven't even shown pictures of the organized games and neither of most of the unorganized games.

Thanks, sage, for stopping by. Appreciated your comments.

Hi, crystal. I'm not a fishing or hunting person either. But I often think that the joy of either has as much to do with being out in nature as it does with the skills required to get a catch.

Hi, aluadacbs. Thanks for coming by. Glad I can encourage you in some way(s).
