Molten Flows - Dreams of Another World

Dreams of another world
Another time
Shapes and forms lurking
Known and unknown mixing
Meanings adrift
Like a fog in a windy land

--------------------------------------------------
What items can your imagination see in this picture?

Do you see a mask? A half face? What else?

You might want to click on the photo to view it in its large form.

I definitely see a face. A Greek philosopher!

Very cool. Good words to comment on the art, or is it the art that is imitating your words. I see what you mentioned but also a pair of sun glasses and a sea shell with a silvery key sticking out of it.

it almost looks like those picture puzzle games we have for kids.....put all the pieces right and it starts making sense.........

Very good I really like that distortion :)

nice poem and photo--the photo looks like a reflection, ripples on top of water reflecting a tree in autumn

Hi, ash. Isn't it though? But a beautiful surreal from my perspective.

Thanks, fahd. It is so good to see you commenting again. Welcome back!

Hi, cergie. Glad you enjoyed my poem. And it's okay if you don't see anything in the picture. That happens to all of us. So what kind of poem of mine did you want on your blog? I don't do them real often. They take a lot of thought and time for me to write. But I enjoy doing it every now and then.

Thanks, murf. That's something I haven't yet seen; but that's okay. It is good to have differing imaginations. It spices life up. :)

Thanks, choochoo. Glad you liked it! :)

Thanks, merili. Autumn is such a beautiful time of year.

Gracias, coral. Es bueno oír de ti. Saludos y un abrazo.

Hi, san nakji. That's great. I wouldn't have thought about a Greek philosopher till you mentioned it.

Thanks, paige. I love you and the others commenting about what they see. It opens up my eyes and expands my imagination, too. Thanks again.

Hi, moi. You know, you have a point there. But I love to reminisce back to my childhood years. Can't lose all of the child within me. ;)

Thanks, reflex. Distortion does have a vital and proper role in creating beauty at various times and places.

Thanks, sage. What you saw is so true. I hadn't thought of that either till I read your comment.

"Like a fog in a windy land" -- I like that!

I see a river of a multi-colored liquid that is good to drink.

Of all your digitially manipulated photos that I have seen so far, this one is my favorite. You talk about me publishing some writing, I would gets some reprints made and sell them.

Murf said...

Perhaps you two should combine your talents. I know Sage would buy your book with Tim's pictures. I'd probably just flip through it at the bookstore and put it back. ;-)

Tim Rice said...

Thanks, bobby. Always glad for a vivid imagination for these posts!

Thanks, ed abbey. This is one of my favorite photo manipulations, too.

Ah, murf, you just gave the reason why many good books don't ever get published.

Thanks, kimberly. Great sighting.

having just moved from Philly to Orlando, I am sooooooo missing the fall color! I will say that this weather is darn near PERFECT though!

thanks for the taste of fall

One day I'll send to you one or more pictures that I'ld have made in nature.
And i'll give you all the time you need to write something short exactly as long as this one.
It should be great !!!

Sarad said...

I couldn't make head or tail of that picture but it reminds me of a movie called 'Big Fish'.

Tim Rice said...

Hi, kate. Glad I could help you vicariously experience fall. Fall colors just is something one should not miss. :)

Hi, cergie. Sure, I'll give it a try if you send me a photo or two without any quick deadlines.

Hi, sarad. Sorry you couldn't make heads or tails of that pic; but I think I do see how it might have reminded you of the movie Big Fish. I went and looked at a trailer for it on the Net. I think I might enjoy watching that movie.

I tried, but all I see are beautiful leaves.....

Tim Rice said...

Hi, judypatooote. Thanks for trying. Hint: Look at the black parts of the picture. Do you see anything there?

Thanks, fairyesque-scandal. The colors are brilliant in this picture, aren't they? And, yes, I did manipulate this picture via a photoshop elements filter called plastic wrap.

I see oil base ink/ painting, swimming in water... This is wicked - it's opened up my imagination. Cheers!

Tim Rice said...

Thanks, michelle bialowas. Loved your response. If I can spur people's imagination, then I am doing my vocation here. :)
