Farm Scenes from Two Farms near Stover/Meyers Mill

Last week when I went hiking along the Tohickon Creek near Stover/Meyers Mill near Pipersville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I also took some photos from two different farms in that same area. It brought back memories of my childhood and living on my parents' farm. Various of my siblings back then had these same kinds of animals as pets.

The barn and barnyard before the sheep came out

The two adult sheep with their thick wool coats
almost made me think of bears. ;)

Breakfast time

There's something about lambs that's so peaceful.

These goats mixed with the cows
worked for their breakfast. :)

Today we rode through farmland with cows, sheep, goats & horses. Much like you have posted here. Don't you just love farms?

That's so beautiful.
The old farm: I'm happy to discover it and to see that you have stone buildings too.

The black lamb: not usual.
In France, we have some (1/10 ?)in each herd, so when the farmer is watching to it from a far place on the mountain for example, he just need to count how many black sheeps and so he knows if the all herd is there.

I would have been able to identify the sheep but thanks for sharing with us the types of animals. :-)

Goats eat weeping willow trees? And what kind of person gets perverse pleasure out of making those poor guys work that hard to get a bite and trims the tree that short? :-)

lol - and I thought that goats only eat everything _within_ reach. I stand corrected.

Great Pictures Tim; You have found some very gorgeous places to walk and take pictures..... A lamb seems so pure, and soft....of course I'm probably thinking of "Mary had a little lamb"....

yeah, you are right, something about lambs that makes you think of innocence :)
I loved the picture of teh countryside. I was born in such a place and miss the easier times. Of course as a child the world seems always carefree...hopefully!

Hi, abandoned in pasadena. I love farms except when I have to do the work! ;)

Hi, cergie. You're right - stone buildings are special. And black lambs are neat, too.

Hi, sage. I took some pictures at another farm today of sheep and goats - no cows. I'll probably post some of them in the coming days or next week.

Hi, mikaela. I thought the jumping goats were neat, too. You know the food that is just about out of reach is always better! :)

Welcome, sarad. I enjoy sharing this with my readers. Glad you found it, too. :)

Hi, murf. Goats will eat just about anything even your clothing. And anything that is just about out of their reach, they will strive for.

Hi, choochoo. Goats love reaching the unreachable if they can. They're too much like us people. ;)

Thanks, carmel. I think little ones of just about every animal are cute. And the country side is special.

Thanks, judypatooote. Lambs are special. :)

Thanks, minka. For many of us, life does seem to have been easier when we were children. We are blessed.
