Green Lane Nature Hike, No. 1, part 1, Hemlock Point Trail

This morning into the early afternoon, I went hiking at the Green Lane Reservoir Park near Green Lane in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Green Lane Resoivoir Park consists of both forest and meadows, large bodies of water and small. In this post, I hiked mostly in the forest along Hemlock Point Trail much of it along the reservoir. The photos below are presented in the order I encountered them. In the second last photo, notice how wavy the water of the reservoir was this morning. At one point along the reservoir, I heard and then saw fish jumping. Unfortunately, I was unable to capture that on camera.

I wonder if Jen and Jon are still together.

I was gonna tell you that the wavy pic was my favorite, before you drew attention to it! What a great way to spend Labor Day. We watched tennis most of the day.

Very nice walk you took and I did enjoy the pictures, but is that snow in one of them or just something white?

I think in Japan there are notthose sceneries. That's too bad.

Thanks, ken devries. You are so right. God has given us a wonderful creation that renews itself according to its schedule.

Hi, anvilcloud. I'm glad you enjoyed sharing in my walk. Blessings.

Hi, m! You would ask that, wouldn't you? ;)

Hi, ginnie. I thought that picture with the waves was neat, too. Glad you liked it.

Hi, mreddie. It was a good hike - a beautiful day with comfortable temperatures.

Hi, abandoned in pasadena. Glad you enjoyed my hike. I think the white you saw was actually the waves on the reservoir at the shoreline. I took a second look at it and could see that it might look like snow. But, it's not that cold yet. :)

Hi, darilyn. Glad you found my pictures peaceful. That is one precious side of nature.

Hi, ryan setliff. Glad you enjoyed the pictures. Thanks for coming by.

Hi, reflex. Thanks. That feeling of movement in the photo is neat, isn't it.

Hi, minka. Driftwood is beautiful. It would be hard for me to pick a favorite here. I liked the small flower with two blue petals and one white petal and yellow stamens. The yellow flowers right after the driftwood were also highly touching to me.

Hi, shu-ichi. Glad you could stop by. And life does get busy; so don't feel bad that you didn't get here as soon as you would have liked. Maybe some day, you will get a chance to see some of these things for yourself. But for now maybe I can be your eyes some of the time just as I tell people in other countries and states that they are my eyes for now.

the last two photos are magical!

Murf said...

Tim - I would. :-) Maybe I will make up a little story about where Jen and Jon are today.

Tim Rice said...

Thanks, sage. In that sense, I think our world is often magical.

Hi, m! You go right (write) ahead. Just be sure it's clean enough to suit my sensitivities. :)

Lovely- as always!! :o) Tell us about your camera sometime so we know what it is you use to take such beautiful shots.

Do you ever get any wildlife photos??

Murf said...

Tim - Of course it would be clean. Don't believe everything Sage tells you about me. ;-)

The bee & flowers and the moss! You are awesome Tim! I would love it if you could link to a map or something so I could see where you were when you took these.

Hi, trailady. Glad you enjoyed these photos. I use a Canon digital SLR camera for most of my photos; although sometimes I use a Canon Powershot A80 snapshot camera. Yes, I do sometimes photographed wild animals but on a much less frequent basis as they are more difficult to find and take in most cases. On my blog posts in the past, I have posted pictures of turtles, various birds, deer, fish, and moose in the wild.

Hi, m! Go have some fun then writing those stories and let me see them when you're done.

Hi, san nakji. Glad you enjoyed this hike of mine. As for maps, I recommend you look up the town/city and state at http://maps.yahoo.com/. Then you can see the location with as much or as little detail as you want.

Nice to see so pretty pictures.
I like when it's raining too.
The foam is so green... Don't telle me you used photshop !
Ahaha ! I'm joking, I know you did not.
But, this is a very serious question:do you often carve lovely hearts ?

Great photos you have here.

Thanks for stopping by =)

Tim Rice said...

Hi, cergie. What you referred to as foam was actually algae as you might have guessed. And, no, I don't carve hearts. They were just a part of the environment of my experience.

Thanks, jazzy. I enjoyed stopping by your blog. Glad you liked these pictures. :)

GRRR ! I did another mistake.
Not my fault, the fault of this *&@€ book about ponds that I must translate.
Mousse (French)= foam (beer, sea...)
Mousse = also moss (forest)!
I thought it was moss.
At the same occasion, congratulations for the pretty droplet near the blue flower.

Tim Rice said...

Don't worry about the mistake, cergie. And thank you for the congratulations.
