On the Home Farm

After church today, I stopped in at my parents for a while, ate dinner with them, and played a game of Scrabble together with them. After that, they went to visit some relations at a retirement home. I stayed at the farm for a while and did some photography playing around with different camera settings. Some of the different photos I took are presented belows.

The back side of the old barn

Up until yesterday, it has been unseasonably warm and my parents' magnolia tree shows it. It is covered with buds.

Cattails above and below

As kids, dad and sometimes mom, too, would take us for walks in the farm woods behind these Cattails.

The farm house I lived in for many years

My home church lies across the fields from the home farm. I am a member and still attend there.

That is so pretty Tim and thanks for sharing.

Being a city girl, I've enjoyed my farm stay when I was in Wales many years ago and you've revived my memory for a farm stay. Thank you.

I have never seen magnolia tree live. :) The pictures look very 'homey' and remind me of the place my grandparents live in, i visit every so often to get away from the crazyness of the city.

You showed this fzrm yet before and it seems completly different today, maybe because of the trees without leaves or perhaps of the different angles of shooting

Pretty farm indeed, sure you wera a happy farmer boy !

Thanks, shionge. I'm glad I could revive some pleasant memories.

Thanks, deals on wheels. It is a beautiful part of the country. And old barns do have a certain magic about them.

Thanks, photowannabe. I do appreciate my heritage very much. I have many pleasant memories lodged there. :)

Hi, merili. It's neat to hear about similarities between there and here. Thanks for sharing those comparisons.

Hi, spicebear. Good to see you and glad you like the pictures though I don't mean to make you homesick.

Thanks, sarad. Sometimes I think it is amazing what brings back memories of one's home. :)

Thanks, cergie. I do think this barn picture is from a different angle than before. And I think any other scenes I showed were either from the green seasons or snow times. I do appreciate my farm heritage.

Hi, murf. Yes, that is a cemetery between the farm and the church. Except for when I was living in dormitories at college, I have always lived next to a cemetery -- do even now. They are good neighbors. ;)

Thanks, sage. I certainly found it interesting growing up there. :)

Thanks, judypatooote. Sounds like my post brings pleasant memories to you, too. And cattails are neat plants.

Thanks, choochoo. It is. :)

Thanks, mreddie. The second group of cattails are a bit bedraggled yet that is a bit of the beauty of life in its own way.

Love the barn. Thanks for the walk around, it has brought to mind childhood memories of the smell and look of my great grandfathers farm up on the hill. The laughter and love rolling over the hills of Indiana.

Thanks, faye pekas. They have many good memories for me.

Thanks, paige. Glad I could help bring back some good memories for you.

Thanks, moi. The countryside is a beautiful place to live; but if everybody went there, we would have no countryside. ;)

Thanks, bobby. Barns are fascinating buildings many times - especially the older ones.

Thanks, carmel. Glad you enjoyed them pictures.

Thanks, fred. I'm sure they would be nice in a book; but I'm not sure I could sell enough books to make it worth it.

Thanks, jon cox. Glad you enjoyed them.
