Chincoteague, Part 1

My wife and I spent September 5-8, 2008 at Chincoteague, Virginia to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We were married on September 8 last year. We went as Tropical Storm Hanna was approaching not knowing what it would bring. As it turned out, it wasn't too bad and we were able to explore much of the area.

All except the last photo was taken on Friday when we arrived hence the cloudy skies. Friday afternoon, we did a lot of sightseeing driving with occasional stops for short walks and/or photo taking. We spent most of Saturday morning and early afternoon browsing various small shops in Chincoteague till the heavy rains came. When the heavy rains came, we went back to our hotel and played cards for the rest of the day except for supper time. For supper we went out to a nice restaurant and had a very delicious tropical shrimp salad and some very good crab cakes. They also served us a loaf of warm bread that tasted homemade. I'll describe Sunday and Monday (our mostly sunny days) in the next post.

I love deer. I bump into them all the time around here. One upside to living in hellhole.

Thanks, choochoo. Deer can be beautiful though sometimes they have become a nuisance where I live.

Thanks, ginnie. Time does fly. But it has been a very good year!
