Around Home

Recently, I haven't been able to get out on hikes too much for a variety of reasons. So today I took a walk around my apartment building vacinity to see what I could find. The pictures below are some of nature's beauties that I found.

I like the rosish red color of the tops of these plants

Many people consider dandelions to be just weeds. But I remember when I was little how I liked to take dandelion flowers and color people's noses yellow. I still like these bright yellow flowers. And their leaves when still young taste so good when in the proper sauce.

Wild violets blooming

White blossoms with a pink tinge

A tree with beautifully, rippley bark

More beautiful yellow wildflowers

Bluebells

The wild violets : I met plenty in the mountain Vercors. Dark or white, three different colors
Dandelion ! Too old to be eaten with fried bacon now...
The wild pretty yellow flower : I recognize a flower which has a white sap useful against wart Its French name : chelidoine (CHELIDONUM)

Tim, please come and catch just a glimpse on my garden blog
Don't comment, just say "Hi" It will be enough and so fine...

I got some of those yellow flowers in the second picture popping up in my yard! Dandelions are good, just make sure they haven't been sprayed or posioned when you pick 'em.

These are all beautiful, but I especially like the bluebells. Reminds me of my years in Texas.

That's quite a bouquet of flowers growing around your apartment complex. Lovely shots.

I've never heard of dandelion sauce. Dandelion wine, yes. Maybe they are one in the same in your world, Tim? ;-)

Thanks, moi. I'm glad you enjoy and discover new things in my photos.

Thanks, cergie, for coming by my blog with your comments. I always enjoy seeing your thoughts here. And, marguerite, I was glad to stop by your blogs so quickly. It is a pleasure to look at your posts. I need to find a way to add more hours to my day. I am sorry your friend lost her mother. That must be a hard experience.

Thanks, sage. Dandelions are a delicious food but your caution is certainly worth paying attention to.

Thanks, jam. And bluebells are such pretty flowers.

Thanks, ginnie. Yes, all in my backyard! :)

Thanks, photowannabe. Glad you enjoyed my shots.

Thanks, murf. And, no, dandelion sauce and dandelion wine are totally different things. I heard of but never had the second.

Thanks, samrina. I hope you are doing well, too. Life is too busy but otherwise very good for me.

OK, I'll try again. For some reason my computer blog comment instructions are in Thai and apparently I hit a wrong button after trying to leave a comment the other day.:) My comment was that I am inspired by dandelions ever since I read a card long ago with this quote: "Dandelions are my favorite flowers because they refuse to quit growing." How true, and a great inspiration to me in my life. OK, here goes--see if I can press the right Thai buttons this time.:)
