A Hike at Nockamixon State Park

Yesterday morning, I went hiking at Nockamixon State Park on the Bedminster side of the park in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. For those who know the area, I started my hike at the end of Kellers Church Road and hiked towards Rt. 611. It was a partley cloudy, partly sunny morning. The trails were wet and muddy but it was a beautiful morning.

Bright green moss and are there violets also? :)

A short segment of a tree full of fungi

Tree trunks jutting up through the ice

A brilliant green moss at the base of the tree

A sky view from within the woods

Fungi - a fascinating pattern

Moss and other plants on two decaying logs

The pictures of the fungi encircling the tree in both pictures are my favorites. You live in some beautiful hiking areas.

I don't see any violets but it is still not even 8 in the morning yet. I'm guessing I will find them at about 2 p.m. :-)

Great pictures as usual.....You do take the same kind of pictures that i like to take.....i don't know why, but anything different, thats related to nature....I was so fascinated with a picture that i took, it looked like a bear cub clinging to a tree, and it was just fungus.....the picture didn't bring out the image, as well as seeing it in person....I posted it on a slide show on my post....keep snapping those pictures, we love seeing them......

Thanks, judypatooote. I'm happy that you appreciate the pictures I take. I love nature. :)

Thanks, sage. But just a couple days ago we just got another major sleet and ice storm. However by the end of this week, it is suppose to warm up again. It has started moderating some already.

I love tree fungi!

Although I was less enraptured with it when my old porch started growing shelf fungi on it. It looks better on trees. :)
