A Deep Run Area Farm Scene

Last week I was driving along this farm and decided that it just might be good picture taking time. So I parked my car along the road and got out. The farm is located not far from Dublin in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. When I was a teenager, I used to work there around the house and barn helping to maintain and care for the property. Some of these pictures are best viewed in their larger size by clicking on the picture.

In the foreground are sheep, at the edge of the pond are goats,
and in the pond is a swan.

I remember when this pond did not have a fountain. At that time the pond often became rather stagnant and algae overgrown. So they solved the problem a good number of years ago by installing a fountain.

A gathering of sheep; the goats have departed to greener areas.

These goats see me by the fence and are coming for handouts.

I love this picture. The smaller sheep almost looks like it is smiling
with its eyes and facial expression.

Could that be considered a sheepish grin? ec

It's funny how sheep look different from country to country. I like your sheep though!

Lovely! Old MacDonald will surely turn green with envy when he sees your farm photos. :p

That's so sympathic to having built a jet only for sheeps.
I hope they enjoy it and give more whole and milk and grow faster.

I heard that in some farms they let cows listen musiC

Mozart is the best. The cows prefer Mozart than Xenakis or Boulez for instance!!!

Animals are so soulful, when you take the time to pay attention to them and look deep into their eyes. I'm trying to pay more attention to them as I get older. Something about them that God wants us to learn, I think!

Adorable pictures. I wonder if the animals prefer the fountain too. Thanks for sharing the names of all these critters. ;-)

Hi, fred. Glad you enjoyed the farm shots. I'm afraid farms especially small farms are a diminishing breed.

Hi, moi. Glad you enjoyed that pic. Thanks.

Hi, mreddie. I like your response. As usual, you are good with words.

Hi, san nakji. I didn't really think about sheep looking different from country to country. Maybe you should post pictures of sheep from your country for me to see. :)

Thanks, Irene. I like your comparison to Old MacDonald. :)

Hi, tanushree. Glad you enjoyed your visit here. And, yes, that last pic is the best.

Thanks, cergie. I don't know how much the fountain makes the sheep grow better; but it sure does make the pond and property more attractive.

Thanks, ginnie. You may just be right. I think it shows particularly in my last pic.

Thanks, murf. I think the fountain does at least make the water more palatable for the sheep and goats.

Thanks, sarad. God's wonder never ceases in nature.

It just goes to show that a person should always have a camera handy. What great shots.....I was going by my church one day and there is a field across from it, and that field was filled with mallard ducks. It looked like over 100 ducks.....all blue and green and beautiful....and guess what, NO Camera.....I could have pulled in the church parking lot, and took some pictures......so I took my camera with me the next day, and NO ducks......

I came by your blog earlier today but blogger wouldn't let me leave a comment. Now I'm back, to look at the farm animals again. I have long had the dream of having a little farm with animals like these. Maybe not so many but some to care for and learn from. Certainly not to eat. Maybe a petting farm for children to visit. The only problem with my dream is that my husband doesn't share it. And, since I like him a lot, I'll probably just continue to dream my dream and look at animal pictures like yours. Very nice photos, Tim.

Love the shot where the sheep are, then the goats & the swan on the water. They are all great. How lucky you are to live where such natural beauty can been seen on a daily basis. Here I have to go out & look for it, most of time. Which brings up my usual problem of where is the time to do it. Beautiful, thanks for giving this to us.

Hi, judypatooote. We should always have a camera handy so it seems at times. And I think I would have regretted not having a camera handy for the picture that you described.

Hi, faye pekas. Animals are wonderful; glad I was able to provide pictures that you enjoy.

Hi, annie. That does sound like a fantastic dream. But I think you're right that your husband would have to share in that dream to make it work for the two of you together. Anyway, I'm glad I could provide these pictures for you.

Thanks, shruti. I have traveled some though not as frequently as I used to do or would like to do. Glad you enjoyed these pics.

Hi, ocean. You should see live sheep sometime. It's especially fun if you can see them when they have some frisky lambs.

Thanks, paige. I'm happy to provide these views for you and others to enjoy. But you're right. Time is a factor.

Thanks, samrina. Glad you enjoyed my pics. Hope all is well with you.

Hi, lucy marguerite. Good to have you come visit.

Love the animals and I never thought of a fountain solving an algae problem. I might give it a try.

Hi, abandoned in pasadena. I think it works because it keeps the water circulating. It may not be cheap solution to do it properly depending how large a body of water one is working with.
