A Hike on the Perkiomen Trail near Schwenksville

Yesterday afternoon I went hiking on the Perkiomen Trail near Schwenksville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania going towards Graterford. These are a few scenes from that hike. It was a warm but mostly cloudy afternoon. The trails were wet at many places with all the melting snow.

That must have been a most satisfying ride. You rode and stopped to take a photo or two along the way.

What a small world... well a small town, anyway. I randomly met your lovely fiance this evening! Can you believe it? I recognized her from your engagement photograph. I hope she wasn't too terribly freaked out - if she was, she handled it very gracefully :)

So the snow is finally melting, as we knew it would. Now comes the spring flowers/showers!

As always, Tim, lovely pics.

There's a muddy creak just like that one in the woods where I usually walk my dog. Every time I forget that it's there, right up until the moment that my white pooch is completely brown...

Lichen? Really? I had no idea that green stuff had an acutal name!

Awesome pictures, as always. It's so warm down here, I cannot believe you all still have snow on the ground!

Thanks, annie. It was a most satisfying hike that day and a good time for thinking.

Hi, mikaela. It is a small world, isn't it. And isn't my fiancée a rather neat person? :) :) :)

Thanks, sage. Glad you enjoyed the pictures. But I don't really know if there is clay in the area or not.

Thanks, ginnie. Talking spring showers, they say we're supposed to get two inches of rain tonight.

Thanks, memories catcher. It is a neat place to walk with some great things to see.

Thanks, chez. It's been a long time, hasn't it. Welcome!

Hi, choochoo. Does your dog like getting a bath when he gets back home? :)

Thanks, deals on wheels. The snow is disappearing here too. And after tonight's two inch rainfall they're calling for, it'll probably be all washed away.

I love going on these hikes with you. You seem to find good thinking spots.

Beautiful! But it is looking like spring might be just around the corner with all the snow melting. ec

Great shots. I wonder why the water was so muddy in the one shot. Are they logging in the area?

My hubby and I went for a similar hike a couple of weeks ago. The scene was not as mushy. gorgeous nonetheless..same as your photos.

I'd like to link you up. Hope you dont mind.

what a beautiful place! Has it been cold there?
Congratulations on your engagement too!

I thought the water looked more burnt orange than red. Who do you agree with, Tim? :-)

Thanks, photowannabe. Part of hiking is getting out and away to think many times or at least to get away from the hustle bustle of everyday life and just appreciate the beauty of nature.

Hi, san nakji. It does almost look like Willy Wonka's river, doesn't it? :)

Thanks, mreddie. But it is suppose to get cold again on Monday not going above 31 degrees Fahrenheit.

Thanks, faye pekas. I don't really know why it was so muddy. But there are so many housing developments going up all around the area that it might be run off from that.

Thanks, leah. And sure you may link up to me. :)

Thanks, carmel. It has been relatively cold here except for yesterday and today.

Hi, murf. I think it is all in the eyes of the beholder. ;)

That's an awfully neutral answer, Tim. I can tell you have lots of nieces and nephews. ;-)

oh i totally love the muddy creek pic......to my wildly imaginative mind, it seems like chocolate river!!! :DDDDD

Hi, murf! Sometimes, it pays to be neutral; other times, it makes nobody happy with you. ;)

Thanks, moi. Wouldn't that be wonderful if it really were a chocolate river! ;)
