On Sunday afternoon, my fiancée and I went for a hike at Peace Valley Park near Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was a partly cloudy to mostly sunny day with temperatures in the fifties but the air still felt raw. Here are a few pictures from the day. After the hike, we spent some time in the bird blind located in the nature center area. We saw a large variety of birds but especially took note of a large number of cardinals.

I like how you wriite this pretty French word "fiancée" and you even found an accent on your key board !!!When looking the picture at the top of your post how may it be possible to imagine the ones at the bottom ?
I like seeing pictures of the ice breaking up since we never experience that in the San Francisco Bay Area. Good pictures and would love to see ones of the cardinals.
Thanks, cergie. When accents are appropriate, I like to include them; I used the United States-International keyboard to get the accented vowel. As for the ice, ice that thick takes a long time to melt down.
Thanks, photowannabe. As for the cardinals, maybe I'll get a photo of some of them sometime. Birds are one of the toughest creatures to photograph.
Thanks, moi. I love hiking and I'm glad you enjoy the photos, too.
Hi, san nakji. It was cold for quite a while though probably not more than normal.
Male or female cardinals? Or both? I understand why it is but I still think it's rather unfair that the male species is so bright and beautiful and the female is the boring brown.
I have never seen ice like this as it doesn't get this cold here. Once I was in Madrid though over winter and the fountains froze. I got a photo of a pigeon walking on the frozen fountain and it really appealed to my sense of humour. Not sure if the pigeon liked it much though! Great photos again.
My main blog: Ramblings generally focuses on telling a story via photography and words. These stories generally center around family, nature, and church although sometimes just about life in general. I also have a blog entitled Fingerprints. I post less frequently in Fingerprints. It serves as a catch all of anything that does not go in my Ramblings blog including memes, quizzes, and reports on books and movies.
The road awaits
Time doesn't
The road beckons
Time steps forward
Will we move
In step with time?
Will we step forward
Shaping our time?
Will we take time
To see the present?
Will we explore the past
And understand our heritage?
Will we laugh?
Will we wonder?
Will we touch?
Will we feel?
Time flies on
We have choices
Shall we go fast?
Shall we go slow?
We shall go forward
But we will choose the pace
We may dance with all our heart
Or bathe ourselves in a setting sun

Wow, the ice is so thick. It must have been a cold winter! (sorry I know nothing about ice, this might be normal for all I know!)
I want to see the cardinals too!

Very romantic :)

with the warm weather this week, our snow is gone and the ice on lakes is in retreat.
Thanks, merili. It was a very fun hike with my love. :)
Hi, murf. We saw both male and female cardinals and I think they are both beautiful. But I must admit that the male cardinals do shine more. ;)
Hi, sage. For all intents and purposes, the snow is gone here, too. And the ice is melting, too; just too much of it to go too fast.
How cozy, snuggling up in a bird blind, waiting for the birds to show their feathers....Oh, i'm sorry, i'm just a romantic.....
