Last Saturday afternoon, I went for a hike at The Giving Pond along River Road near Uhlerstown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was an extra warm day; I didn't need any jacket or coat. Note the green leaves in the third picture. We have been having an abnormally warm fall and winter. It was a good place to do some thinking and communing with God.

This looks like a lovely place to meditate and recharge.
Happy New Year to you! I lose contact with some folks until they pop in and comment at my site and then I remember ahh..I have been here and what a delight!
You certainly have a serene place for walking with God or to regroup..I also
need those walks now and then to centre myself ...NG
A beautiful pond. Is it flooded or does it always have trees growing in the water?
Giving pond is a great name. Where did it come from?
btw, that's an interesting name? Any idea of its origin? Is there a giving tree around too?
I can see how that pond would be an area of respite and clearer thinking. Wonderful!
Nice images Tim!
Have a great 2007!
I especially like the 5th pic, Tim, because of the sky. I always feel that Nature is THE place to best commune with God, though, of course, it happens anywhere. So glad you have these special times/places!
Nice pictures. As always:)
beautiful landscape
YEAH !
I like all these pictures, these GINGERS pictures of these two posts
Particularly the narrowest landscape one
I can see sap and vitality in the red branches
Spring is nearly here !
OUAIS !
Thanks, cari. I have fun doing it!
Thanks, photowannabe. It was a great place to meditate and recharge.
Thanks, naturegirl. I do enjoy the many serene places I have to meditate and recharge.
Thanks, faye pekas. This was actually the first time I was at this particular park. So I don't know whether it is always like that.
Hi, sage. As I recall it was called The Giving Pond because an old quarry was transformed into something that could continue to give to the surrounding community.
Thanks, minka. The outdoors so often has that characteristic for me. :)
Thanks, ash. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
Thanks, ginnie. We all need those special times and places.
Thanks, choochoo. I'm honored by your complement.
Thanks, sarad. Nature has a way of creating many beautiful landscapes.
Thanks, cergie. Actually, temperature-wise here in Eastern Pennsylvania winter never yet arrived.
I like the last photo. It makes me want to follow the trail. Since I can't...where does the trail lead?
Sounds like you had a good time.
Tim when you go out to nature for walks and ponder about 'God' what kind of indicators are there that show you 'God' is around and listening ?
Lovely pictures by theway, thankyou for sharing them.
murf, the trail in the last picture leads to wherever your imagination takes you!
Thanks, chad oneil. It was a good hike that day.
Hi, consise10. Mostly it is the sense of worship that wells up within me that convinces me that God is around. It's not only nature that does that to me though. Sometimes, many times, God uses other people to bring me closer to Him. That doesn't mean I don't have dry times when I wonder where God is at. But the communion that I do experience, the love of other Christians, and the persistent love of God carries me through those times. You see, I think God seeks me like a hound dog on the trail.
So it leads to a Red Lobster restaurant? How handy. :-)
murf, if that is where your imagination takes this trail, so be it. However, my imagination would never take this trail to something so commercialized. ;)
Dear Tim, I have never doubted that you were a better person than I am. ;)
You know Tim I have often felt In my darker moments that'something'
seeks me.Im not sure if it's a comfort though, and not sure its 'God'.
Ah, murf, we all have our differing good qualities. That's what makes the world go round.
concise10, what would happen if you didn't require proof for God to be real but began believing in Him for whatever good qualities you have or do experience in life?
Wonderful photos! Where does the name "Giving Pond" come from? I'm always interested in the history behind such names.
Hi, Charlie. I don't know the full story behind the name. But it has something to do with it being changed from a quarry to a park that keeps on giving to the surrounding community.
