Yesterday afternoon I went hiking on the Perkiomen Trail near Schwenksville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania going towards Graterford. These are a few scenes from that hike. It was a warm but mostly cloudy afternoon. The trails were wet at many places with all the melting snow.
This past Saturday afternoon my second oldest niece had a piano recital in her home. She played very well something like a dozen pieces all from memory.
This is my niece who performed the piano recital. Her piano teacher is behind her. No flash pictures were allowed during the recital by request of the teacher.
This was the cake made by her mom for the celebration after the recital.
This morning I woke up before my alarm clock went off. And I was rewarded with a beautiful sunrise view from my apartment window in Souderton, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was a worshipful way to begin a Sunday morning. Our creator is an awesome God.
This morning between about 6:00 and 8:00 a.m. I went for a hike at Peace Valley Park near Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was cold; I could barely take my hands out of my pockets to take pictures. But it was a good time of enjoying the outdoors and peaceful solitude.

This picture was actually taken before engagement and before Christmas when I was introducing my now fiancée to my family for the first time at my parent's home. We have not at this time had an engagement photo taken. Murf, you sometime back asked for a picture of my hiking shoes. In this photo you can see a hiking shoe I use. ;)
This afternoon I went hiking along the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek on the grounds of the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy near Schwenksville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Last Tuesday into Wednesday, we had some snow, sleet, and freezing rain and some cold temperatures since then. In the next post, I will show some ice pictures along the banks of the creek.

Last night began a new stage of life for me and my girlfriend. I presented her with the diamond engagement ring and she said, "Yes!!!" We are planning a September wedding. Both she and I are very excited and happy! :) :) :)
We have been having a number of days of freezing weather. I have been enjoying watching the frost on one of the windows of my apartment. Again I love the patterns. :)
All these keleidoscopes came from the same original photo. Patterns can be intriguing. Many of these patterns I could imagine being on ceilings in museums.
This is the last of three posts of my hike at Ringing Rocks County Park near Upper Black Eddy, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The ice formations were fantastic. You almost have to be there to fully appreciate them.
My main blog: Ramblings generally focuses on telling a story via photography and words. These stories generally center around family, nature, and church although sometimes just about life in general. I also have a blog entitled Fingerprints. I post less frequently in Fingerprints. It serves as a catch all of anything that does not go in my Ramblings blog including memes, quizzes, and reports on books and movies.
The road awaits
Time doesn't
The road beckons
Time steps forward
Will we move
In step with time?
Will we step forward
Shaping our time?
Will we take time
To see the present?
Will we explore the past
And understand our heritage?
Will we laugh?
Will we wonder?
Will we touch?
Will we feel?
Time flies on
We have choices
Shall we go fast?
Shall we go slow?
We shall go forward
But we will choose the pace
We may dance with all our heart
Or bathe ourselves in a setting sun
