For supper tonight, I am having some of this. It is a sausage and vegetable crockpot dish. I sliced up about twelve inches of Italian Rope Sausage. To this, I added the following sliced vegetables: three carrots, three celery stalks, two medium size onions, two green peppers, two medium size red tomatoes, three green jalapeno peppers, five potatoes, and an apple. On top of this, I put a teaspoon salt, a half teaspoon ground black pepper, and a can of cream of mushroom soup mixed with a half can of water.
I then cooked it in the crockpot for eight hours. Yummy, tonight and for many more meals to come. I'll put some in the freezer and probably also eat this every night for the rest week. I love it!
Warning: It's quite spicy hot! Warms up one's throat good.

Wow! Sounds hot and looks good!!
Hmmm ... I was talking about the soup. (blush)
Colourful too!
Wow, that looks and sounds yummy - and I'm not even hungry at the moment. Of course my non-hungry moments are few and far between. :) ec
Three jalapeno peppers, ouch! Your dish is very colorful, and I'm sure tastey....
Do you eat it in a bowl or on a plate?
Crockpot season is just about upon us.
I need to use mine. I refrain because I associate crockpots with old people. Sorry, Tim. :-)
Yum. Now where is my crockpot stored. :)
Thank you for sharing.

Sounds perfect for later in the fall when I go up to the cabin in Union County.
Tim...is that a (gasp!) tablecloth that you have underneath your delicacy?
You had me right up until "can of mushroom soup."
Hi, ava. It is hot and delicious! Isn't terrible how hot can have so many different meanings? :)
Hi, san nakji. That it is. My mom would say that lots of color makes food more delicious.
Thanks, mreddie. Isn't it terrible how just looking at food can make one hungry?
Hi, judypatoootie. I take it you and jalapeno peppers might not get along too well. ;)
Hi, ocean. I've also heard that spicy hot foods help kill germs in the stomach.
Hi, m! This dish is best eaten in a bowl. And don't associate crockpots with old people. I know people in their twenties and thirties who often use crockpots because it's easy and tasty besides. I'm in my forties. I'll let you decide whether that is old. And sure that is a tablecloth under my crockpot. The tablecloth is a prudent protection for a wood table. Did I answer all your questions now? :)
Hi, ed abbey. I guess crockpots are mostly used in colder weather. People like hot stews in chilly weather.
Hi, tropical screamer. It is yummy. This dish is one of my favorite foods.
Hi, snake eater, That does sound like a good time for a crockpot dish.
Hi, Valerie. I don't always use a can of cream of mushroom soup. Sometimes I use just water; other times I use chicken broth. I may experiment with other liquid or semi-liquid products in the future. Anyway, I'm glad you came by and commented. Always nice to hear from people who read my blog. Thank you.
that looks pretty good!
Not quite, Tim. :-) Since you're a bachelor, do you use a real bowl that requires washing or a styrofoam one that you toss when done? Do you have anything with it like a piece of french bread?
May I come for dinner, this is so inviting, and very diet.
I forgot to ask...what does including the apple do to the dish?
I'm definitely writing this one down - it looks delicious and is also very nutritious. A little sausage never killed anyone, right? ;-) I bought a crockpot some time ago when they finally became available in Germany but really haven't used it much so this will be a great recipe to try.
Now I am not a soup stew kinda girl, but this I wouldnæt mind tasting. It look sso delicious. I hope you enjoy it very much for as long as you can :)
The jalapeno peppers are exactly why I would try this recipe, Tim! It's not quite time to get out the crpckpot here in Atlanta. I just found a broccoli soup recipe this morning that looked good for here or while in Germany and Donica's response was, "It's still too hot for soup!" For me, it's never to hot for anything that's good :) I love it when you tell us what you're eating--soup or ice cream :)
Hope you enjoyed it :)
Takecare
Oh, I see now, that's your crockpot! I scrolled down through your blog and wanted to come back here and say you really have some nice pictures. Then I looked again at the yummy-sounding dish in the crockpot....You really should have wiped up those splatters! :)
Hola mi estimado Tim TIM TIM

Thanks, sage. I think it is quite good. But if I were making it for my parents and/or siblings I would have to keep the jalapeno peppers out of it. :)
Hi, murf. Boy, I think there are no end of questions from you. ;) I eat it from a bowl that requires washing. Using a paper product everytime would be too wasteful and too expensive. I put the apple in simply because it was time to use it up. But haven't you ever heard of apple sausage? They go well together; though what the apple does depends on whether you using a tart one or a sweet one. It also adds more nutrition.
cergie, you're welcome to for dinner anytime. Just let me know in advance so I am home and can prepare. :) Seriously you and your husband are welcome to stop by for dinner should you ever come near Souderton, Pennsylvania.
Hi, christina. This is good; but I'm warning you that you may want to reduce the amount of jalapeno peppers in it unless you really like hot, hot, hot foods. And it is nutricious; I don't think the sausage will kill you though maybe the jalapeno peppers will. ;)
Thanks, minka. It is delicious.
Hi, ginnie. We have started to get some comfortably cooler nights up here though it still gets comfortably warm during the day. So you like jalapeno peppers, I see.
Hi, samrina. It was and is good and I am enjoying it. What's one of your favorite foods?
Thanks, lolly. I'm glad you enjoyed my photos. The photo might have looked sharper if I had cleaned off the splashes; but this way it feels more real. :)
Hola, mi amiga coral. Y Gracias. Ese platillo está verdaderamente muy delicioso en mi opinión. Un abrazo por tú.
Tim, I'm not called the Question Lady for nothin'!
murf, I see.
