My brother from Michigan was in for the past week helping with my church's Summer Bible School. So on Saturday afternoon, evening, and into the night many of his family and friends decided to get together for a barbeque and a time of fun and fellowship. Below are a few pictures that continues to tell a part of the story.
In the above picture is my youngest nephew and his train set. Standing towards the back right is his grandmother and my mother. Below are two more of my nephews playing with the train set.
Above are my three nieces with one of their aunts and a nephew looking elsewhere. I am not quite sure what they are playing. Whatever it was, they were enjoying it. Below is my youngest niece and her mother trying to toss a water balloon at each other via the large towel.
These two pictures were taken during dessert time. For dessert, chocolate cake, three flavors of ice cream, cookies (white chocolate macadamia nut and oatmeal raisin), and a fruit platter was served.
Not pictured here but later in the night, some of us played croquet and then went indoors to play a couple different table games. I think we all had an excellent time.

was that a Thoms the Tank Engine train? looks like a nice gathering.
I always wanted a railway when I was a kid. I am so jealous!
As always, I am so impressed with how big a part family plays in your life!
A wonderful photo essay! What a lovely family!
The train set pictures are awesome! It's great to see kids having fun, isn't it?
This is what family reunions are all about. BEING together, PLAYING together, EATING together. I'm glad special holidays "force" us to do that!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time. What a big crowd you had there! Looks like fun & good eats!! :o)
Wow! Looks like SO much fun! My 4th was dull in comparison! My whole family (except me and my grandmother) were out of town for the holiday. Plus, it rained here, so there was only so much I could do that didn't involve my dogs and the indoors. Sigh...
Looks like everyone had a great time. Thanks for sharing the pictures, TIm.
I decided I liked my last five days of vacation so much that I'm off for another four days tomorrow. Have a great weekend!
Hi, sage. I just think it might be. I know they were referring to various engines by various names that I really didn't keep track of.
Hi, san nakji. I think most children are fascinated by railroads and trains. And, yes, we are family to one another.
Thanks wendy c. We do enjoy one another. It was a good time.
Hi, ava. It sure is. I love see children playing.
Hi, ginnie. You're right. And that's what families are for -- to share life together with one another.
Hi, trailady. Yes, we had a good time and good eats. We are blessed.
Hi, deals on wheels. It was a great time. This was on Saturday so it wasn't the fourth but it was a neat celebration of life anyway. Sorry, yours wasn't quite up there.
Thanks, fred. And enjoy your vacation opportunities. Take them while you can and tell us about them later. :)
This train !! My children had the same I suppose: a little train BRIO isn't it ? I have ever kept it still now and I hope I'll have *petits enfants to play with !
My youngest son Pierre doesn't be happy I put his photo on my blog ! I've one of him when he was a baby and another as kid, very cute... It's a shame but I must respect his will...
I brought my daughter the big thick book of Thomas the Tank Engine stories--it's great for kids and she still reads from it (instead of having me read them to her :(
Hi, cergie. If you have grandchildren, they will enjoy your having kept the toy train. As for your son not liking his picture on the web, yes, it's best to respect his wishes and keep the peace.
sage, that's neat except that you obviously now miss being the reader for her. But children must grow up both fortunately and unfortunately.
