Meadow Flowers and more

A little over a week ago, I went hiking on the Perkiomen Watershed Association headquarter's land. With two exceptions, these pictures were taken from the meadow area a little distance from the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek. In a later post, I will show some photos from within the wooded area along the Creek.

These wildflowers seem to grow in both meadow and forest.

The shape of the petals of this blossom draws me.

These wildflowers were located in a woods very near the meadow.

Some common yellow wildflowers

Some beautiful daisies

A buttercup flower

A catapiller that does a lot of damage to trees yet beautiful

  3. I really love little white flowers - great pictures! And the caterpillar is a little bugger, but also adorable :)

  4. You certainly have some beautiful places to explore.

When I was a kid, we used to touch the buttercups to our noses and turn our noses yellow with pollen.

  6. Thanks, mikaela. Glad you enjoyed them!

Thanks, jam. We used to do that with dandelion flowers.

    Thanks, sage.

Thanks, ginnie. Times are busy for both me and my fiancée. But I still need to spend some time in nature.

  7. The moon is gone.

    She fled as dawn approached.

Dawn as a slowly opening eye.

White sea birds skimming over the water,

looking for an early morning snack.

    The mirror brightens.

From a blood moon at dawn to a mirror

    reflecting waking life...

I woke her to take the moon.

Her campaign was swift and terrible.

    Metallic and fierce.

    Glaring up in the twilight.

But the moon was both implacable and unreachable

and in the end the war against the moon failed.

As dawn rose slowly from her bed, the moon slipped away.

But in the end, all that was lost,

    was a little sleep....

After the storm, my mine cleared.

And a high wind arose and blew the tropics north.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

running quartz crystals through a blender.

    sand through your engines.

    bubble in your bays.

estuaries reaching out toward forbidden seas...

    sand through your eyes.

    Calm as baby's breath

as peaceful as the storm's eye

Clouds spread and drawn with rough strokes of stratospheric winds

a warm and windy tropical day.
