Rather than respond to each individual on this topic, I am going write a general response to all of you covering your input, my thoughts, and what I would like to do in the long term.

First, in case anyone wonders, I have revised the main blog post entry eliminating any reference to this potential change and my request for input.

Second, I would like to apologize for not writing as clearly about potential changes as I should have. I think my writing caused some confusion at times from the comments I received. And when I went back and reread my post, my post sounded confusing to me, too.

At this point, my conclusion is that I will be staying with my current format for the indefinite future. I've done some playing around on a totally new blog I created solely for experimental purposes. And I have found that to both achieve my goals and retain an appropriate aesthetic feel to it would be more complicated than I have time and knowledge to accomplish in the near future.

As per my long term goals, I think I would like to learn how to design my own blog template. At this time, I don't know how involved or complicated that would be. I do know I would need to free up a significant amount of time to learn the appropriate coding language to do the task and testing it out. Ultimately, I would like to have the same amount of control over my blog as I felt I had when I used to design and keep my own web page.

As for themes coming out of the responses you gave to my request for input, I think there were two clear ones. The one was a preference for small pictures with links to a larger picture. The other was that since it's my blog, it's my choice. Both are significant points.

So for now my choice is to keep the current format with goal to learn about creating my own blog template in the long term.

Thanks again for your input.Tim Ricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01305530681191503858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1163108330539263642006-11-09T16:38:00.000-05:002006-11-09T16:38:00.000-05:00bien... photoshop.salut joanbien... photoshop.

salut joanJOAN GONZÁLEZ_MIRATGEShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10866078760214090585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1163080576608702302006-11-09T08:56:00.000-05:002006-11-09T08:56:00.000-05:00Tim - I like your current format now because it al...Tim - I like your current format now because it allows me to peruse all your photos and just check out the ones that really peak my interest without having to do a lot of scrolling or loading of everything else.

The template for my blog allows you to use the entire width of the screen for pictures, text, etc. once you are past the sidebar. It is the only template to my knowledge that allows that. I would guess if you have a real short sidebar and a tall title, you would then be left entirely with the screen width for pictures instead of just a portion with all other templates.Edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13214319366049620074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1163044442177930712006-11-08T22:54:00.000-05:002006-11-08T22:54:00.000-05:00The pics are nice, but it is really better to pres...The pics are nice, but it is really better to present a smaller version in the blog and to link to a larger version.Anvilcloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07974744042579564912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1163043246847969542006-11-08T22:34:00.000-05:002006-11-08T22:34:00.000-05:00I'll respond to these comments tomorrow. Quite the dilemma. Perhaps it would help if you took an informal post-election day poll on how many people do visit from a slower connection (I would raise my hand to that even though I have Comcast at home but it has been extremely slow for months now). If you only have a few (and you know I can check it from work *wink, wink*), it may be worth it to switch.Murfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07859630977737647681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1162979781688597162006-11-08T04:56:00.000-05:002006-11-08T04:56:00.000-05:00Hmmm I am divided on this one. That's what I'm doing, which is why I mention it. The other thing has to do with what resolution you save your pics to for the web. On Blogger I save pics at 800x600 pixels. But on Shutterchance I keep the full 2816x2112 resolution. On your blogger posts, that would take forever to load! On Shutterchance you're allowed only one pic/day, so it can handle it. I hope I'm answering your question and not totally missing it!Ginnie Harthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14014434422568561157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1162947005124624322006-11-07T19:50:00.000-05:002006-11-07T19:50:00.000-05:00but how does the blog picture as Large show up? I think my photo posts would be more visually appealing to just about everyone if the pictures were automatically in their larger size. The main con is as I see it now would be for those on dial up internet accounts because the pictures would take longer to load. I haven't decided one way or the other at this point. The current format works; but what I'm pondering I guess is - Could I make my blog work better with a format that allows me to use the whole screen from left to right for my photos?
