I adjusted the RGB midtone levels and used Elements' auto levels for contrast, color correction, and sharpness. I'm still not satisfied with the photo; but it's better than the faded original.Tim Ricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01305530681191503858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1141777126496146192006-03-07T19:18:00.000-05:002006-03-07T19:18:00.000-05:00The colour is so rich on this photo. They often remind me of the blessings I experienced growing up in my family and inspire me to be a blessing to others.

Thanks for dropping by shelleigh. Glad you found my comment meaningful.

Hi adman. I'll have to keep that tip in mind.

Hi chez. Yes, marshmellows - the sweet spongy candy kind of thing - can be roasted. We usually stick them on a wire, a two-prong fork, or a thin stick to roast them over a wood fire or charcoal until golden brown.

Hi ginnie. Life would be so much more shallow without those memories. Gotta love those memories and continue to create more of them for others and yourself. Often the memories one work to create for others become the best memories for oneself.Tim Ricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01305530681191503858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1141734176148850902006-03-07T07:22:00.000-05:002006-03-07T07:22:00.000-05:00Love those memories!Love those memories!Ginnie Harthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14014434422568561157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1141720780999646012006-03-07T03:39:00.000-05:002006-03-07T03:39:00.000-05:00lovely picture. And then we could still easily dispose of the charcoals elsewhere.

Hi monika. I'm not sure roasting marshmellow over a candle would have quite the same flavor as doing it over a wood or charcoal fire. But it sounds like you had a similar custom with a different kind of food in East Germany. Was it a sweet dough?

Some in my family use to like to have their marshmellow actually catch fire so that the outside was all charred black. I liked mine dark brown but not that black.Tim Ricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01305530681191503858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18014050.post-1141694863789734512006-03-06T20:27:00.000-05:002006-03-06T20:27:00.000-05:00I tried the whole marshmallow thing recently.
